So Many Republican Hypocrites, So Little Time

Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.

Ah, it's a return visit for the former chairman of the Young Republican National Federation and past head of the GOP in Clark County, Indiana.

Last August 17, BuzzFlash honored Glenn Murphy Jr. in a special citation to a trio of Republican sexual perverts who revealed themselves, so to speak, the prior week.

Apparently, there were four men who might have been dreaming that fellatio was being performed on them, only to awaken to see Mr. Murphy slurping away at their private parts. Maybe this was just some sort of homespun Hoosier GOP initiation ritual, but the courts found it otherwise.

Alas for Mr. Murphy, he was sentenced on June 12 to a two-year prison term and registration as a sex offender for "sucking up" to sleeping male Republicans.

The sentence was as a result of a plea bargain, perish the thought, concerning one of the alleged acts of somnambulist sex:

During a hearing, Special Prosecutor Stanley Levco laid out the facts of the case. Murphy, 34, of Utica, and the victim, then 22, had been guests at a party in the Jeffersonville home of the victim's sister last July 28, Levco said.

Both men spent the night at the home. When the victim woke up, "Mr. Murphy was performing oral sex on him against his will. He (the victim) was asleep at the time," Levco said.

Superior Court Judge Vicki Carmichael asked Murphy whether those were the facts to which he was admitting.

"Yes," Murphy answered.
Perhaps Murphy tried to, at first, convince the judge that he used to swallow swords in his sleep to practice for work at a carnival. But if that was the stated excuse, the judge didn't buy it -- and neither would we.

Glenn Murphy Jr., best of luck in jail -- but someone please tell his bunkmate what's up, so to speak, at night with Glenn.
